LONDON APSA YOUTH PROJECT
ABOUT US
London APSA Youth Project (LAYP) is a community based youth organisation working across Newham, Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham and surrounding areas of East London. We support children, young people and families through structured sports programmes, mentoring, outreach and community engagement activities designed to create safer, healthier and more positive futures.

Established in 2017, LAYP was created to respond to the growing need for high quality grassroots provision for young people in local communities. Since then, we have developed into a multi service youth project delivering football, mentoring, holiday provision, workshops, outreach and community support programmes for young people aged 7 to 23.

Our work is rooted in regular community delivery. Across the year, we provide weekly training sessions, estate based football, holiday camps, youth mentoring, workshops, tournaments and outreach initiatives. We deliver over 100 hours of outreach, engagement and community based activity through our programmes, creating consistent opportunities for young people to stay active, build relationships and access positive support.

As an organisation deeply rooted in the Newham community, we are driven by the desire to create opportunities for the next generation. By nurturing their talents, developing skills, and instilling a sense of community pride, we aspire to contribute to the well-being and success of young individuals in East Ham and Forest Gate.

At LAYP, we use sport as a tool for development. Our football programmes are not only about coaching and competition, but also about discipline, confidence, teamwork, leadership and personal growth. Alongside this, we run projects and activities that help tackle social isolation, anti social behaviour, poor mental wellbeing and lack of positive opportunities for young people in deprived communities.

Our services include:
-
Grassroots football coaching and player development
-
Girls football sessions
-
Estate and cage football
-
Holiday camps and school holiday activities
-
Mentoring and youth support
-
Community outreach and engagement
-
Workshops around wellbeing, behaviour and life skills
-
Tournaments, events and community service programmes

We work with young people from a wide range of backgrounds, including those facing economic hardship, social exclusion and limited access to structured activities. Our aim is to provide a safe, inclusive and inspiring environment where young people can develop on and off the pitch.

As an organisation, we are committed to long term community impact. We want young people to feel supported, valued and connected to something positive. By combining sport, mentoring and community action, LAYP helps young people build confidence, raise aspirations and play an active role in their communities.
