ABOUT US
Welcome to LAYP (London APSA Youth Project), a dynamic organisation based in Newham, with a mission to empower and uplift the youth and community of Manor Park (High Street North), Forest Gate, and East Ham. Our roots trace back to the vibrant spirit of the original London APSA FC team, a group of Newham College students in the 90s from East Ham who, through passion and dedication, established a highly successful semi-professional club and a platform for young people in their community.

At LAYP, we are committed to carrying forward this legacy by utilizing the power of sport, education and community cohesion as well as various activities to address pressing issues faced by young people and adults aged 12-23. Our services are designed to combat challenges such as loneliness, mental health issues, diversion from gang activity, drug use, knife crime and antisocial behavior. We believe in the transformative potential of sports and communal engagement to create positive change within our communities.
Our diverse range of activities includes football coaching, futsal, estate-based football coaching (concrete football), mental health mentoring, drug awareness workshops, anti-knife crime (Conflict Resolution) workshops and counseling tailored specifically for young people. We understand the importance of providing a supportive environment for personal growth and development. Through organised trips, we aim to broaden horizons and expose our youth to enriching experiences beyond their immediate surroundings.
As an organisation deeply rooted in the Newham community, we are driven by the desire to create opportunities for the next generation. By nurturing their talents, fostering resilience, and instilling a sense of community pride, we aspire to contribute to the well-being and success of young individuals in East Ham and Forest Gate.
